Singapore boasts a well-developed and efficient healthcare system that is often regarded as one of the best in the world. It is characterized by a combination of public and private services, with a strong emphasis on accessibility, quality, and affordability. At the same time, Singapore is challenged by a super-aged society, whereby nearly one in five Singaporeans is aged 65 and above like Sweden. With shrinking and older workforce and rising healthcare costs, there is a need to re-shape healthcare leveraging on technology and data to facilitate better decision-making, and nudge adoption of healthier behaviours. To sustain its healthcare system, Singapore has adopted strategies focused on upstream prevention, better health, social and community integration.
