Professor Maria Faurholt-Jepsen has extensive experiences in conducting clinical research and is internationally one of the few leading researchers within the field of smartphone based monitoring, diagnosing and treatment in patients with bipolar disorder. Maria is internationally one of the few in front and was the first to investigate smartphone-based monitoring as a marker and treatment in patients with bipolar disorder. The findings from her research are innovative and point toward the use of smartphone-based monitoring as a marker of illness in bipolar disorder. Using smartphones as a treatment has a potential global reach, filling the gap between availability and the need for treatment.
