Swecare, together with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, The German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (GSCC), the Swedish Embassy in Berlin and the German Embassy in Stockholm, invites you to a digital delegation trip to Germany, as part of the German-Swedish partnership for innovation. 

During the delegation trip, participants will have ample opportunity to virtually visit and connect to German key players from business and research institutions as well as to interact with leading industry associations and clusters.  

For participants in the virtual delegation trip, we organize introductory meetings to the German healthcare market with a focus on eHealth, high-level meeting with several breakout sessions, digital "study visit", virtual matchmaking, wrap-up meeting and much more.

In 2016–2018 Maja Fjaestad served as Head of Social Policy in the Swedish Municipal Workers’ Union and she was previously (2014–2016) State Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office. In 2010–2014 she worked as a researcher in the Division of History of Science, Technology and Environment, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, where she was awarded a PhD in technology in 2010.

In 2017, Dr. Peter Gocke was appointed as the first Chief Digital Officer in the healthcare provider space in Germany. He is responsible for the digital transformation of the Charité, the academic hospital in Berlin. Before that, he was the CIO of the Academic Medical Center in Hamburg, in charge of several digitalization projects which led to a HIMSS EMRAM stage 7 award. He is a trained radiologist holding previous roles as Associate Professor of Radiology.

Kalle Conneryd Lundgren is COO at Karolinska University Hospital with responsibility for governance and strategic lead of operations including steering of care production, medical assignments, infrastructural and logistical aspects of the hospital. He is also CIO of Karolinska University Hospital. Prof Lundgren is active in research and teaching within craniofacial and reconstructive plastic surgery.

Friedrich Koehler, MD, FESC, Senior Physician at the Medical Department of Cardiology and Angiology (Charité Berlin), is Director of the Centre for Cardiovascular Telemedicine which is the specialized in research and development projects of remote patient management of heart failure patients. Since 2015 he is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and since 2019 he is the Consortium leader of the ”Telemed5000” project.

Ulf Österstad, MD and specialist in family medicine. Currently, Ulf is the Operations Manager at Bra Liv nära, an app that provides healthcare directly to patients since 2015. He is also a consultant in medical post exam education and is an experienced healthpolicy maker with a background in national non-prof boards (SFAM, SYLF). Ulf also has experience from chatbot development (Red Robin).

Dennis Cole joined the internet development section of Germany's biggest health insurance fund TK in 2003. Changed in 2007 to the staff department company-development (Unternehmensentwicklung) and in a liaison-role supportet the director of the health-science staff-department (WINEG-Gesundheitswissenschaften) till 2017. Currently he is employed as a senior manager for the TK-Health-Care-Development-Section (Versorgungs-Management) with the specific role as an innovation scout for the health care market.

Niclas Jacobson has held this position since 2011. From 2011 through 2014 he also served as Chairman of the European Union Social Protection Committee Working Group on Ageing. From 2004 to 2010 he worked specifically with issues related to ageing and elderly care. In 2008 he was appointed Administrative Head of the Special Commission to draft minimum standards of competence to work within elderly care.

Sophia Lückhof works at gematik GmbH since 2016. As the Desk Officer for eHealth in the area of Strategy and Europe her focus is on the topic of interoperability in healthcare. Digital Multilateral Brokerage Event

Healthcare Sector Group of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) organize a digital multilateral brokerage event with over 50 registered participants from Germany. The event typically takes place in Germany at the annual world renowned conference Medica. Due to pandemic this years brokerage is digital and includes daily webinars on the topic of market entry and innovations for health. The brokerage is open from now until March 2021.

The objective is to assist SME’s, universities and research institutions in finding partners worldwide for product development, manufacturing and licensing agreements, distribution partnerships, research cooperation, joint ventures, financing/investment, public buyers or other types of partnership.

Registration involves an administrative cost but for the digital delegation to Germany, organized by Swecare Foundation and the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, registration is offered at no cost.

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is the Europena Commisions global network with representation in 60+ countries. The network utilizes local and regional experts in each country who provide subsidized support services for SME’s aiming for international expansion. The network assists in finding international partners for R&D and/or business expansion. Advisors coach SME’s on innovation competitiveness as well as regulatory and export preparation. The network is organized around sectors including Health, with bi- and multilateral collaboration initiatives to enable acceleration of development, commercialization and adoption of innovations for health and life science.

General Conditions for Participation in Digital Delegations trips

1 General 
 
SWECARE undertakes to carry out the export activity described in the invitation on condition that the necessary number of companies signs up by giving binding notice of participation and no obstacles specified in section 5 below exist in regard to the performance of the activity. 

2 Participation fee 
 
Companies taking part in the activity undertake to cooperate in order to achieve its aim and facilitate its performance and also to pay the fee specified in the invitation. Participation in the activity may not be made available or assigned to a third party without the prior written consent of SWECARE. Unless otherwise expressly stated, all prices are exclusive of VAT. The participation fee shall be paid in advance. 
 
If the price has been specified in SEK and SWECARE has to pay certain costs in local currency, the price shall at the time of payment be adjusted if the exchange rate has changed by more than 5% between the date of the invitation and the date of invoicing.  The term of payment is 30 days from the invoice date. In the event of late payment, penalty interest is payable at the current Swedish reference rate (“referensränta”) plus eight (8) percentage points. Any costs for collection or other measures to obtain payment will be charged to the company.

3 SWECARE’s undertakings 
 
SWECARE’s undertakings are limited to what is stated in the invitation and the present conditions. Payments for services that SWECARE has undertaken to perform by written agreement, over and above what is included in the activity, shall be made as they fall due after invoicing. SWECARE is entitled to depart from the method specified in the invitation of performing the activity if its performance requires this.

4 Cancellation etc 
 
Registration is binding. If not stated otherwise in the invitation, upon cancellation of participation the fee may be charged in full as from the date SWECARE has received and confirmed the company’s binding reservation. 

5  Force majeure etc 
 
SWECARE may cancel the activity or postpone carrying it out for a reasonable period if any obstacle to or unreasonable increase in the cost of carrying it out arises or if carrying it out would jeopardise the safety of persons or property affected by the activity, due to an event or circumstance outside SWECARE’s reasonable control (force majeure). Such events or circumstances include acts of violence or a risk of acts of violence of all kinds (including war, hostilities, acts of sabotage etc.), natural phenomena (earthquakes, hurricanes, floods etc.), sudden events which cause injury or damage (fires, explosions, outbreak and health hazards etc.), labour conflicts (strike, lockout, blockade, working to rule etc.), events and interventions of an official nature (changes in the law, new legislation, a change in the exchange rate), and other unforeseen events or unforeseen consequences of foreseeable events such as lack of transport, a shortage of skilled workers, power cuts etc. 
 
SWECARE shall inform the participating companies in an appropriate manner as soon as possible after force majeure is deemed to exist. 
 
In addition to what is stated in the first paragraph of this section, the effect of invoking force majeure is that SWECARE will be absolved from economic consequences, including damages for delay in carrying out the activity or for the activity not being carried out at all or not being carried out as agreed. 

6 Disputes etc. These general conditions shall be governed by and are construed in accordance with Swedish law. Any dispute in connection with these general conditions shall be finally settled by arbitration in accordance with the Rules for Expedited Arbitrations of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
