Product security in a connected world
We live in a world where products, businesses, and people are becoming increasingly connected to each other through technology. Thus, manufacturers must investigate and make sure that their products - and components from subcontractors - are safe and secure before connecting them to other products and systems.

In this month's edition of Agenda, you can read about electrical safety and how Supply Chain Management impacts product reliability. You can also read about Nordic IoT Centre's cyber security check of ERNIT's IoT product for children.

One thing is for sure - we have reached the last month of the year, and with this edition of Agenda we round off 2017. We look forward to sharing new, exciting knowledge with you when Agenda is back in January 2018.

Season Greetings and Happy New Year.

Best regards from

Cyber security check opens export doors for virtual piggy bank
ERNIT has developed a virtual piggy bank to help children understand the concept of saving up for the things they wish for. To show the world that their IoT product is safe to use, ERNIT has had a third-party security screening conducted at the Nordic IoT Centre. It is important that this approval is in place both in relation to the customers, who are the banks, as well as when ERNIT conducts business with the export markets.
Lean Mean ALT Lab – when we want to know the lifetime of an electronic product
Knowing the lifetime of an electronics product is vital when assessing and documenting the product reliability. Read about the exciting new initiatives, like the Lean Mean ALT Lab, that FORCE Technology works with in its physical testing to determine the lifetime of electronics used in completely different situations.
Electric testing and measuring equipment must fulfil the safety requirements of the Low Voltage Directive
FORCE Technology takes an active role in standardisation work for the standards EN/IEC 61010-1 and thus has inside knowledge about the standards, their content and upcoming changes. This means that we can give our customers optimal and up-to-date advice that is aimed specifically at their products.
Supply chain management is crucial for product reliability
Renowned researcher Michael Pecht from CALCE at the University of Maryland has extensive knowledge about how the real world reacts in relation to reliability and product development. We here shared some of his most interesting observations, which he presented at SPM’s anniversary seminar.
