The strength of sustainability

In recent years, the climate debate has partly been replaced by discussions about sustainability and green economy. The use of new technologies can help increase sustainability in many industries. In this edition of Agenda, you can read about a sustainable method for maintenance of DBS's IC trains and hear how the Danish supermarket Irma handles energy optimisation.

You are also invited to the event 'Design Smart Products', which this year looks at ways to create more sustainable solutions for the maritime sector.

Enjoy your reading.

CASE

Laser cladding method provides wear-resistant components for DSB's IC trains

Strong forces come into play when DSB’s IC trains set off. When coupling the train carriages together, both the end brackets and the pin bolts are exposed to great forces. Consequently, the train components become worn. By using laser cladding FORCE Technology has repaired and prolonged the lifetime of the critical train components, thus saving DSB time and money, so that the trains quickly get back on track.

5 TIPS

Five things you should consider when making a requirement specification for plastic materials and products

All too often, requirement specifications end up being difficult and expensive to draw up and maintain in relation to the value the company gets from them.  A requirement specification can actually be a valuable tool if it is based on the functionality of the product and the elements it contains, rather than simply being a shopping list that cannot be altered.
