We send drones out on new missions
The potential for using drones in different contexts is huge - not least within the industry. Using drones for measurement and inspections opens the doors to new opportunities that may revolutionise the way measurements are conducted. As part of Denmark's National drone strategy FORCE Technology has been awarded fundings by the Danish Agency for Institutions and Educational Grants to develop new drone-borne solutions for measurements and inspections of hard to reach places, such as wind turbine blades and biogas plants.

Read more about the drone project in this edition of the Agenda-newsletter, which also brings you stories about indoor space technology, energy harvesting and risk management for medical products.

Energy harvesting eliminates expensive battery replacement
East West Instore Solutions sells electronic shelf labels to retail chains. An innovation project with DELTA detects a cheaper solution for shelf labels based on indoor solar cell technology. The potential for the retail trade is huge.
Risk management relating to EMC for medical devices
The requirement for EMC risk handling is more explicit in harmonised standards for medical devices than anywhere else. Gain insight into the risk management process.

Drones on new missions
FORCE Technology has launched an ambitious drone technology project in collaboration with the Alexandra Institute. In this project, we will investigate challenging new opportunities to use drones for various types of environmental measurements and contact-based inspection of materials.
Basic standards – the basis of standardisation’s food pyramid
Standards are technical documents that establish procedures and technical requirements, for example, for the execution of EMC testing with electrical disturbance. When technical developments in society change the electrical environment, the standards and requirements keep up and take into consideration new sources of electrical disturbance, for example such as the widespread presence of wireless products or highly efficient switch-mode power supplies for LED lighting. An international group of experts are writing the new basic standards.
Danish companies will grow into space
FORCE Technology and the Alexandra Institute are collaborating in a new space project, the aim of which is to increase the visibility of Danish companies and strengthen their potential for expanding their businesses in space.

DELTA Agenda here.
Meeting 20 April: DNA Club
Introduction to the biggest changes and considerations with the new Medical Device regulation. Special attention on Annex I – General safety and performance requirements.
Course 2 May: Noise measurements I
The course provides a basic introduction to environmental noise e.g. external noise from companies, and the participants will learn to make exploratory noise measurements.
Course 3 May: Noise measurements II
The course builds on Noise measurements I and provides a more comprehensive training in environmental noise, including a review of noise reports and noise calculations.
Course 25 April: Acceleration factors and ALT testing
Background knowledge and methods to plan and analyse simple accelerated life testing of electromechanical products.
Learn to understand and utilise acceleration factors and models and thus to assess and plan accelerated life testing.
Meeting 26 and 27 April: IoT & Wireless Club
Approval Management
For many years we have awaited a new Radio Equipment Directive (RED). We take the last status check before reaching the final deadline where only the RED is applicable.
26 April in Aarhus (in Danish)
27 April in Hørsholm (in Danish)
23 May: Metrology Day 2017
Metrology Day 2017 focuses on the change that affects the Danish water, heat energy, and transportation industries, i.a. the modernisation of legal metrology regulations.
10-11 May in Berlin
Meet DELTA Microelectronics at the Internet of Things Applications EUROPE in Berlin.
