A Nordic perspective on the UPC beginnings
Although Norway is not part of the UPC agreement, Norwegian companies operating in Europe are very much affected by this new court and the unitary patent. For example, one of the first cases handled in the Nordic-Baltic Regional Division concerned a Norwegian company.
Foreningen for norske IP-rådgivere (FONIP), together with Schjødt, therefore invite to an after-work seminar on the UPC. The seminar is open to all advisors and in-house IP professionals. There are a limited number of available spaces and registration will work on a first-come, first-served basis. We will hear practical experiences from presiding judges Petri Rinkinen at the Finnish local division in Helsinki and Stefan Johansson at the Nordic-Baltic regional division in Stockholm, in addition to IP litigator Christopher Tehrani from Schjødt’s Stockholm office.
