Maintaining essential public services will be crucial for Ukraine’s long-term recovery as a society and for its economy. A well-functioning health care system is essential to ensure that Ukrainian citizens have access to the medical treatments they need and to promote public health and wellbeing in society. Swedish actors want to actively contribute to the recovery of Ukraine’s health care system, in both the short and the long term.
We look forward to welcoming representatives of the Ukrainian Government to the conference to provide information on the current state and needs of the Ukrainian health care system. This will be the starting point, looking ahead to how Swedish stakeholders can find concrete ways to contribute in their diverse capacities, and the structures and means to do so.
We want to create a platform for key actors in the Swedish health care sector, such as public authorities, universities, regions, the private sector and civil society, to meet and discuss the common objective of meeting Ukrainian needs, together with Ukrainian representatives.
The programme will include:
- The Swedish Government’s development assistance strategy for Ukraine
- Examples of current work in the health care sector to support Ukraine
- National and international actors providing financing for reconstruction
- Discussion on ways forward.
The conference will take place in Stockholm, on Friday 1 December. The conference is organised by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs in collaboration with Swecare Foundation.
