Exchange: Visit by Egypt Healthcare Authority

Swecare together with The Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and The Embassy of Sweden in Cairo, are pleased to welcome a delegation from the Egyptian General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) lead by their Chairman Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky.

About Egypt Healthcare Authority
For the introduction of Universal Health Insurance, Egypt created three new independent regulatory authorities, which will oversee the effective implementation of the universal health insurance programme. One of those being Egyptian General Authority for Healthcare, a public services authority. Their main role is to regulate the healthcare service providers and supervise the provision of healthcare services.The implementation of this large transformations is done in different phases and some regions have already started implementation. 

Objectives of the Round Table
The objective of this roundtable is primarly knowledge exchange between the Egypt Healthcare Authority and Swedish public/private bodies. The implementation of Universal Health Insurance in Egypt has put spotlight on how to run a healthcare system more efficiently. During the rountable, National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) and E-Health Agency (eHälsomyndigheten) will be present along with the Egypt Healthcare Authority delegates. Swecare members will get a chance to interact with the participants about how they can contribute in EHA's transformation.
