About the markets Compulsory public health insurance systems form the basis of South Korea and Japan’s sophisticated healthcare system that serve a combined population of 175 million people. This has created a largely reimbursed market for medical devices and medicine. Japan’s medical expenditures have increased over 30% since 2000 and now constitute 11% of GDP and are expected to continue growing as the populations ages. South Korea’s health expenditures are 8.8% of GDP and forecasted to grow at a CAGR of 6.2% during 2020-2025, primarily driven by an aging population and adoption of new technologies. About the speakers Bongsoon Park from Business Sweden Seoul and Magnus Blondell from Business Sweden Tokyo have over 20 years' experience supporting Swedish healthcare companies develop and implement market entry strategies in markets across Asia.
