Heng lives with his close-knit, deeply Buddhist family in rural Cambodia, who work hard struggling as farmers. At six, he lost both his arms in a landmine explosion. Now, as a teenager hanging with the wrong crowd and with no future at the farm, his mother sends him to his older brother, Chana, who makes romantic music videos in the bustling city of Phnom Penh. Here, with a bossy brother, amid a So-Me, “wanna-be” culture, Heng must make it. A film about a family living with the consequences of a war that ended decades ago.

The Last Movie |
Filmmaker Petter Vennerød wants to take us on one last film journey. He was one half of Norway's most prominent film-making duo in the 80s and 90s; Wam & Vennerød. The Mum in Me |
The Mum in Me is a touching, brave and hyper relevant documentary about a taboo topic: What happens to a woman’s mind, her emotional life and her identity when she is hit by involuntary childlessness? The director is the storyteller taking the audience on a challenging, but also humorous and heartwarming journey, together with three other childless women, showing that 15-25% of the population is childless. The documentary tells us why the need for children is so immense for so many, and how it shapes us as human beings when it does not materialize. Sorrow, desperation, and isolation is part of the everyday life for the involuntary childless. At the same time, this documentary is about reconciliation, alternative motherhood and newfound zest for life. Not many filmmakers dare to invite into such a vulnerable state of mind.
