Anette Ostrø
Anette Ostrø (b. 1970) is educated in Documentary and non-fiction filmmaking at Volda University College (1998-1999) and BSC Directing at the Norwegian Film School (1999-2002). She has directed several documentaries and fiction films over the last 15 years. She is brave, sensitive and has a strong vision in her films, putting a lot of herself into her movies, whether they deal with women’s rights as in her film Breaking the Silence (2005), exploring femininity in The woman and I (2012), losing a child in late-term pregnancy in Lost (2014), and now in The Golden Swan, a film about her brother during captivity. In a personal and intimate way, Anette raises awareness and reflects upon global issues of our time.
