One of the world´s leading Container Shippers opened their container depot in Port of Uddevalla, 1 December 2015.

This gives Exporters and Importers from all over the world, the possibility to book transports directly via Port of Uddevalla. Transports to and from the Ocean vessels is performed in the best environmentally friendly way by rail. Advantages are several:

  • Reduces the risk of waiting time
  • Works as a shortcut to Swedish container ports with daily train departures from Uddevalla
  • Decreases risks of container rents
  • Close to storage and loading
  • Possibility to sign B/L to and from Uddevalla with CMA CGM

Factory building at Sörvik
Advantageous possibilities for establishment in the Port area
Port of Uddevalla now have the possibility to offer a combined industry/office-property to lease in the Port area.
The building was formerly used for producing input to paper industry. The building consists of 720 m² open area, possibilities for 195 m² office area and a workshop hall of approximately 115 m².

A 5-tons overhead crane is located in the open area. There is also plenty of nearby paved surface, which can be rented totally or in parts. The building is close to berths and also situated nearby the mainroads: E6, Rv45, Rv44.
Fröland
We can also offer establishment opportunities for maritime-related business on Fröland terminal. The surface is adjacent to the 240 m long Fröland Quay.

Fairway to Fröland allows calls by vessels with draft up to 11 meters. The area is easily reached from the main roads.
Flexibility in projecttransports
In November we had the privilege yet again to handle project cargo of the heavier kind at our Port.
The cargo was shipped from Nhava Sheva, India via Hamburg to Uddevalla. DHL in Hamburg was responsible for reloading directly from Ocean vessel to a Coaster vessel.  The cargo, consisting of generators, general cargo and containers, was then discharged by us in Uddevalla.

Flexibility and short handling makes the cargo closer and faster to the final destination in a combination of schedueled traffic and Short Sea Shipping .
New Port Cargo Dues
Port Cargo Dues will be adjusted by 1 of January 2016
This fee reflects the costs of infrastructure and ship traffic. It will also cover costs caused by new demands from authorities and costs connected with regulatory requirements connected with the terms for being a ISPS-classed port. This fee is chosen by us to be included in our taxes.

During 2016 we will make larger infrastructual investments. Among others - new railroadtracks, asphalting of larger areas and several improvements in our quays.
New traffic from the eastcoast of USA to Uddevalla
Regulary US calls in the Port 2016
Possibilites of shipping from and to the USA from our Port increases. First vessel to call for Uddevalla is estimated week 2/2016.

Rebuilding the Skeppsholmspier
Procurement of entreprenour for the project of rebuilding the Skeppsholmspier is now in progress

The Northern part will be rebuilt and adapted to handling liquid bulk. The majority of our handling of liquid bulk will be transferred to this area and this will also open up for possibilities to expand in the future. On the Southern side we will make considerable repairs.

Rebuilding and repairs will start during the winter and is planned to be completed in the summer of 2016. Costs are estimated to be approximately SEK 20 M.

We expect no disorders for vessel calls during this time, but there can be minor timed restrictions.
Greetings from MD
2015 is soon coming to its end, and the time of summaries are here. We are approaching one of our greatest holidays and there are lots of thoughts during these last few days.

2015 has been an intense year and we have had the pleasure of a major increase of goods flow. Just the other day we reached one million tons through our quays. It has been a year with both excitement and challenges.

Looking forward, there is also quite a few exciting challenges for coming years. Immediately after the holidays has past, we will start the remodeling of Skeppsholmspier, this will our major project for the next year. A larger terminal area will be created during the spring and summer. We will remake and invest in doors for one of our warehouses and also invest in other areas at Sörvik. All this to make better logistic solutions available for our customers.

We offer sustainable transport solutions, a clear context in modern logistic business trade. More and more companies chose to work with longterm-based solutions focused on quality and environment. Or as we look upon it - an absolute condition for success in the future.

I am proud and pleased to be a representative for
Uddevalla Hamnterminal and this feeling has been strengthened during the past year. My
employees has shown a great interest and true committment in our projects, with highly professional devotion and a great focus on the customers demands. This all adds to build a great atmosphere in our company.

Wish you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
