Information session on Tactical Community Engagement Workshop done in Canada

Are you bored out of your mind when you go to a public consultation session? Are you overwhelmed by all the social media and online content? Are you tired of not getting meaningful feedback? Try Tactical Community Engagement - an approach inspired by the Tactical Urbanism movements happening all around the world where citizens take planning into their own hands. Tactical Urbanism gets people out on the streets to bring about permanent or temporary changes to their city. Initiatives include events such as PARK(ing) Day, Open Street, Pop-Up Town Hall, and Pavement to Parks. Planners can use initiatives like these as engagement tools, just as WSP’s planners have been doing for the past few years.

Tactical Community Engagement information session - Stockholm, November 13, 2015
Community consultation has become a vital component of city building initiatives around the world. The success of such projects is being measured by the effectiveness of the public involvement in the planning process. This workshop will discuss different methods and techniques in receiving meaningful feedback from the public that can help enhance the projects goals. We will focus on the value of getting out on the streets and speaking to people in the flow of their daily lives.

This session will give you an introduction to how the tactical engagement workshops was done in Canada.
