X-press feeders calls at Uddevalla
X-press feeders are a so-called "common feeder", open to anyone to book load, which provides an alternative to short-sea shipping
The X-press feeders ship MV Ice Runner will call Uddevalla on a regular basis, with weekly traffic on Thursdays. The vessel operates Uddevalla - Gothenburg - Rotterdam, providing customers in our immediate area an alternative to short-sea shipping to/from Rotterdam.

This gives shorter transport routes for the industry in our area, with less emissions and better environment as a result.
Prepared for the new customs rules - with a new customs system
In the coming year, new customs rules will be introduced for customs warehousing for EU goods versus non EU goods
The new customs rules imply increased requirements for traceability of third country goods and that terminals, and the systems used, must be approved by the Customs Administration. We are working hard to prepare for this and we will implement a new customs and warehouse system early in the autumn.
Renovation of port crane
Renovation and update of one of our fixed cranes at Skeppsholmspier will be performed during the summer and autumn
This is an investment that will secure capacity at Skeppsholmspier for future operations. We can still operate unloading and loading with our other three fixed cranes during the renovation. Our large mobile crane also has the ability to assist, if needed.

We do not expect the work to imply any major restrictions, but the result will be a crane with better capacity and safer operation.
New import opportunities
KESS creates new opportunities for import S:t Petersburg - Uddevalla
We have had regular traffic between S:t Petersburg and Uddevalla "one route" to South America for some time now. We are pleased to announce that there is now also the possibility of short sea shipping with the shipping company KESS (K Line European Sea Highway Services) via Uddevalla.

The tonnage KESS offers is Ro/Ro but with the ability to also handle general cargo or projects.
The volumes of goods over quay increases
Swedish Ports (Sveriges Hamnar) reports a 2% increase in cargo volumes over quays in 2016
Swedish Ports annually reports statistics for goods over the Swedish quays. During 2016, the volumes over quays in Swedish ports increased by 2%.

In Port of Uddevalla we have seen an increase of the matching percentage, the main increase is in exports of bulk and general cargo. We also see a positive trend for cargo volumes in 2017.
Summer staff and new employees

During the spring and summer, Uddevalla Hamnterminal has employed new staff to almost all departments; operations, forwarding, our workshop and to our administrative department.

Just like previous years, we also have summer employees, and this year they are extra many as operations is at full swing in the harbor during the summer months!

Both permanent staff and summer staff are now in place and ready to provide all our customers with the best possible service.

We wish them all warmly welcomed to us!

Port of Uddevalla - proud sponsors of youth sports

This year Uddevalla Hamnterminal sponsors IK Oddevold youth tournament Oddebollen. The soccertournament will be played in Uddevalla for the 32nd consecutive year and will take place 4-6 August.

We think it is important for both young people and the city of Uddevalla that the tournament is available and are proud to join in the sponsorship.
